Oscars anyone?

I know I'm supposed to write about something funny that happened but I can't think of anything particular right now so I'll write about my favorite movies from the last year :)

Has anybody watched The Academy Awards last Sunday? I did and I was very excited to see it because I managed to see all movies nominated in main categories. So my absolutely favorite was 'Dallas buyers club' - it's a little sad, but also heart-warming, movie with the amazing actors - both Matthew McConaughey for the leading role and Jared Leto for the supporting role got Oscars.

Another great movie I can recommend to watch is 'Blue Jasmine' written and directed by Woody Allen (my idol forever!), Cate Blanchett who plays main character also got an Oscar - well, no-one else deserved it more than her, if you ask me!

If you like animations you should definitely see 'Despicable Me 2' which was nominated but unfortunately did not get an Oscar.

The last two very interesting movies are 'Nebraska' and 'August: Osage County' - both about family, love and disappointment, and both happen in Midwest.

Hopefully I encouraged you a little to watch some new movies! :)

A very important decision.

One of the most important decisions I have ever made was the one about moving to U.S. However hard that decision might sound to you, it wasn't that difficult :) The most important reason was my husband, of course! We met on the 5th (last) year of the university, moved in together veeery fast (after 3 weeks is fast, isn't it?:)) and considering the terrible economic situation in Poland and my husband's family living in Chicago, we didn't have to think too much where we should live after we graduate. It's been almost five years since we came here and I haven't regretted it a single time. Of course I miss Poland, my friends and family, but I know that we have more opportunities here.

My Reaction to 'Guns in America'

The 'Guns in America' documentary is about a very important topic in U.S. - use of guns. It is way more common to have a gun here than in Poland, but also many more crimes happen here every year. I personally will consider getting a permission to have a gun, after a proper training of course for my own protection. I know that idea of having a gun might seem scary for some people but we can hear even more scary stories on the news every day, so I think it is a good way to feel less helpless.
