How has my life changed in last five years?

Hey guys!

I gotta say that my life has changed a bit in the last five years :) Five years ago my husband (fiancĂ©e at that time) and I moved to Chicago from Poland. For the first couple of months we lived with his parents, because it's not easy to be fully independent when you just moved to a country you've never even been before! But slowly we were getting closer to being independent :)
We got married, got jobs, rented a place just for ourselves, got to know more and more people. After a year or so we started to travel, we've seen some incredible places but we knew we're going to put down our roots in Chicago :) And here we are today, living in a pretty condo with our crazy dog, planning our first in five years trip to Poland!

My dream place.

During my 28-year-old life I've moved couple times. I was born in Poland and I lived there for a long time, eventually I moved to London, UK and after that to small city in Belgium - Tielt. After that I came back to Poland where I met my husband (lucky me:)).

Around five years ago we graduated from university and we decided to move to Chicago - the economic situation in Poland was (and unfortunately still is) quite bad and it's really hard to find a good job and make a living. My husband and I, we both have family in Chicago so the choice was very simple.

As I said before, we've moved here about five years ago and now I can say that Chicago isn't my dream place to live. Don't get me wrong, I really like it here, but there are some issues that wouldn't occur in, let's say, San Francisco.

Main thing that bothers me in Chicago is unpredictable weather (well, this year I predict long winter, but that doesn't make it any better:)). The weather in San Francisco is way better, it doesn't change as much as in Chicago and there's no winter! The lowest temperature was 27F which sounds like a heat wave during winter in Chicago. Summertime is also very nice, which sound just perfect.

Another very important reason is the beauty of that place. It has nostalgic meaning for me, because it's not typical American city, it looks more European to me. And deep down in my heart I miss the regions I grew up in. :) Also, San Francisco is only 17 miles away from the ocean which sounds like heaven! If I could, I'd go to the beach every day - and hopefully some day I will. :)

I'm sure there are many more reasons why I want to live in San Francisco, but maybe the ones I wrote about are enough for today :)
